After his father's sudden death, Ludwig of Bavaria has to deal with with the royal burden. He believes in a peaceful world, that is built on art and beauty. The composer Richard Wagner, who was adored by the young monarch, was chosen to be the source of inspiration for this new world model. But the reality with its political constraints made a stand against Ludwigs pursuit of happiness.
