Synopsis

Gassen is a village of mountain farmers 1600 metres high in the Hohe Tauern of East Tyrol. In 1965, the formerly flourishing hamlet abruptly became a ghost village when a landslide destroyed two houses and killed six people. Following that, the inhabitants of Gassen left their home village. For 35 years, Gassen has only been inhabited by an old brother and sister, the last of Gassen. Just at the turn of the millennium, the long sleep suddenly ends. A new generation has grown up, the fear of another landslide is overcome.
