Vienna Film Prize 2010

Hüseyin Tabak received the this year's Vienna Film Prize at the Viennale for his documentary Kick Off, together with Marvin Kren who won with Rammbock for Best Feature Film.

The FIPRESCI-Award goes to Periferic (Outbound) by Bogdan George Apetri.

A specail mention goes to Die verrückte Welt der Ute Bock by Houchang Allahyari.

Docu Regio 2010 - Projects selected

This year's pitching competition Docu Regio takes place for the fourth time and is the ideal platform for networking between producers and European regional funds. For the Vienna Film Fund the project MUSIC UNDER NEW YORK by Carlo Hofmann takes part, produced by Golden Girls Filmproduktion.

Oscar Nomination for The White Ribbon

Michael Haneke's The White Ribbon is nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 82. Acadamy Awards.

Christian Berger is nominated for Best Camera (The White Ribbon).

 

The 82. Academy Awards will take place on March 7th 2010 in Los Angeles.

Austrian presence at the 60th Berlinale

In the group of films selceted for the Competition of the 60th Berlinale there are even three Austrian productions: The Robber by Benjamin Heisenberg based on the novel by Martin Prinz and On the Path by Jasmila Žbanić, who was successful in Berlin before with Grbavica (Golden Bear 2006) and Jew Süß - Rise and Fall with Tobias Moretti & Moritz Bleibtreu, directed by Oskar Roehler.
