European Film Prize and Golden Globe nomination for Michael Haneke

This years European Film Prize, which took place for the 22nd time, ended with a great success for Michael Haneke and his masterpiece The White Ribbon - it got awarded three times: best film, best director and best screenplay.

And here's another prestigious nomination: for the best foreign film at the 67th Golden Globe Awards, which will take place in January 2010.

The Viennale president and jury member of the Vienna Film Fund Eric Pleskow received the grand decoration for merits for the Austrian Republic.

Vienna Film Prize 2009

Jessica Hausner received the this year's Vienna Film Prize at the Viennale  for her feature film Lourdes.

"... a truly outstanding film experience." Jury's decision 

The jury (Marie-Christine Friedrich, Esther Stocker, Markus Hinterhäuser, Hans Langsteiner and Josef Winkler) also awarded Cooking History by Péter Kerekes as best documentary.
